Vitiligo Care

Vitiligo is unpredictable and long term — but it can be controlled, and here is what actually helps.

The vitiligo service of Chongqing West District Hospital confirms the diagnosis, judges how active the disease is, and treats it with topical therapy, phototherapy, and surgery for stable disease — with honest timelines, real attention to the psychological burden, and the full resources of a tertiary general hospital behind every plan.

Assessment before treatment, a plan that matches how active the disease is, and honesty about what months or years of consistent care can and cannot change.

How We Work

Vitiligo care that starts with an honest assessment

Vitiligo is common, but it is not simple. Whether it is a first white patch or long-standing widespread disease, every plan follows the same three principles.

1

Assess

Vitiligo is judged, not guessed: the pattern, how active the disease is, the sites involved, and the look-alike conditions that are mistaken for it. The assessment decides the whole plan.

2

Treat in steps

We treat in the right order for the stage of the disease: settle the activity first, then work at repigmentation with topical treatment and phototherapy, and consider surgery only once the disease is stable.

3

Manage long term

Vitiligo is chronic and relapsing. We build the protection, screening and follow-up routine that keeps it controlled, because stopping everything at once is how it returns.

Your Team

Dedicated specialists within a tertiary hospital

Vitiligo is a dermatology problem first and a surgical problem second, and surgery only for stable disease. Our team joins the medical control of vitiligo with the phototherapy, grafting and surgical skills that repigmentation sometimes requires, with the full safety net of a tertiary general hospital behind every plan.

Patient Education

Vitiligo, explained honestly

Start with the basics: what vitiligo is and what it is not, how it is diagnosed, what the pattern means, what treatment genuinely changes, and what living with a long-term, unpredictable condition actually looks like.

Our Commitment

We will not sell you certainty we do not have

No treatment stops every case of vitiligo from spreading, no plan restores pigment for everyone, and nothing erases it. Repigmentation takes months and is often partial, and it is hardest on the hands, feet and lips. Treatment usually has to continue to hold the result, some treatments carry monitoring requirements, and relapse after stopping is common. The psychological impact of visible difference is real, and treating it is part of the care rather than a side issue. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not giving you honest medical advice.
